Are you interested in working for a fire department someday? If so, you can see what it is like to be a fire professional by becoming a part of the Rochester Fire Department Explorer Post 520.
Program Affiliation
Explorer Post 520 is sponsored by the Rochester Fire Department and affiliated with the Gamehaven Council of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA).
Program Purpose
The primary purpose is to provide a means by which young men and women may determine if they would like to pursue a career in the fire service as adults. Exploring offers exposure to the skills required to be a firefighter through hands-on training and experience.
Program Requirements
Young men and women are eligible to be in Explorer Post 520 if they are in 9th to 12th grade. Post 520 typically meets two times a month at one of the four Rochester Fire Stations. There is a $15.00 annual fee which covers membership and insurance costs
